comments

The text enclosed by `/*' and `*/' (containing `/*' and `*/') is treated as a comment and has no effect to the program execution as in C programs.

/*
 * This is a comment.
 */

def afo(X) {

A comment can span to several lines, but it cannot be nested. Only the first `/*' is effective no matter how many `/*''s in the subsequent text exist, and the comment terminates at the first `*/'. In order to comment out a program part that may contain comments in it, use the pair, #if 0 and #endif. (See section preprocessor)

#if 0
def bfo(X) {
/* empty */
}
#endif
